Aerojet Rocketdyne is seeking a Sr Remediation Analyst/Engineer for our Sacramento, CA office. The Senior Remediation Analyst/Engineer will assist with the implementation of the strategic plan to execute source site remedies included in the various Aerojet Rocketdyne, Inc. (AR) cleanup projects. While the primary responsibilities will be associated with cleanup projects in Sacramento County, California, support may also be provided for other AR locations across the country.

Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)
The successful individual will:
Provide day to day oversight of multi-disciplinary team of internal/external professionals and contractors in accordance with agency requirements/permits to:
Implement regulatory-required cleanup actions, including preparing sampling plans, implementing field investigations, preparing reports, and implementing remedial actions.
Lead day to day oversight of operation and maintenance (O&M) activities for AR's groundwater extraction and treatment facility program in accordance with USEPA orders, approved O&M Plans, and RWQCB NPDES permits.
Integrate management of change related to new activities/processes and modifications of current operations.
Review operational processes and integrate process variation management for compliance tracking.
Prepare and maintain project tracking documentation, accurate financial documentation, including budget projections and development of cost/benefit analyses.
Work with other organization staff and management team to develop strategic direction for remediation and implementation of projects.
Negotiate with regulatory agencies and manage compliance with applicable orders, agency directives, and permits.
Integrate and monitor internal and external Safety, Health and Environment programs and requirements into the remediation projects including job hazard analyses and management of change.
Position will require up to 10% travel.
Requirements
A Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline (e.g. Hydrogeology, Earth Science, Geology, Geoscience, Geoenvironmental Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Chemistry, etc.) and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in a directly related field. Demonstrated ability to control and manage programs and projects to budget and schedule.
Extensive knowledge of CERCLA and RCRA corrective action regulations is required. Experience managing and completing remedial investigations, feasibility studies, remedial actions, analyses, and reporting is required. Knowledge of risk assessment guidance and participation in the preparation of risk assessments is desired. Leading day to day oversight of operation and maintenance activities for large scale groundwater extraction and treatment systems is a plus.
Must possess current CA Driver’s License (or valid out-of-state license and ability to obtain CA license).
Current 40 HAZWOPER required.
Requires U.S. Citizenship, U.S. Permanent Residency, or other status as a U.S. Person. Must be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information. Having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
The work environment may require a combination of indoor and outdoor activity (hot, cold, wet, humid conditions) with a varied amount of walking, standing, sitting, climbing (i.e. ladders, stair, scaffolding, ramps), balance (maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces), bending, reaching, handling/fingering (seizing, holding, grasping, turning picking, pinching), stooping, kneeling, crouching and ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, employees may work around variable noise levels. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. May also be required to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer. Ability to distinguish colors may also be necessary. Some employees may be required to drive between various locations within the Company facility or between locations. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
Pay range for this position:
100,000 - 147,333 per year
