Aerojet Rocketdyne seeks a Manufacturing and Tool Engineering Intern to join our facility next Summer 2023 in Redmond, WA.

After orientation and training, interns will perform entry-level engineering tasks on rocket propulsion projects. Interns will support senior engineering staff and gain experience and familiarization with Aerojet Rocketdyne projects. Interns must be able to operate effectively in a team environment. Summer internships will start in approximately May/June and end in August/September.

Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

100% - Under close supervision and following specific detailed instructions, performs both general and specialized assignments that provide training and work experience of a developmental nature.

  • Evaluate tooling, equipment and hardware to determine if items are needed or surplus. This includes reviewing engineering drawings, as well as functionality of the tool.

  • Perform activities within Oracle such as data clean up, data entry, routings or other tasks.

  • Assist with special projects focused on particular aspects of manufacturing operations.

  • May design minor tools and/or generating drawing changes for tools.

Requirements

Students must be actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or other related major.

Requires U.S. Citizenship, U.S. Permanent Residency or other status as a U.S. Person. Must be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.

Additional Requirements and Preferred Qualifications:

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

  • Must have experience working in a team environment and excellent written and verbal skills.

  • Experience with CAD preferred.

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a warehouse, manufacturing or standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit or stand and maintain attention to detail despite interruptions.

Initial assignments will include lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling up to 25 pounds. Requires occasional walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.

Pay range for this position:

22.00 - 33.00 per hour
