Overview

We are seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to join our growing team at the Coleman Aerospace division in Orlando, FL. Coleman Aerospace is a leading target system prime integration contractor of complex, high-fidelity missile, and propulsion systems.

The Supplier Quality Engineer will plan assessments, execute audits, and provide direct supplier oversite to verify supplier conformance with customer specifications and engineering requirements.

AR Coleman Aerospace produces complex single, two, and three stage launch vehicles used to support ballistic missile defense testing.

Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

25% - Visit suppliers, perform product acceptance and testing (non-consecutive travel, up to 12 weeks/yr). Interface with internal and external customers (i.e., engineering, manufacturing, supplier, procurement) to ensure requirements are met.

25% - Manage supplier non-conformances. Evaluate Root Cause and Corrective Actions for accuracy and completeness. Work with suppliers to resolve issues with purchase order inspection packages. Investigate and report supplier quality history as requested by quality engineering or Quality & Mission Assurance (Q&MA) management.

20% - Review purchase requests and apply Quality flow-down requirements

20% - Conduct supplier surveys and periodic reviews. Analyze supplier processes and planning to verify compliance with purchase orders, engineering drawings, processes, specifications, etc.

5% - Represent Quality in the Supplier Quality Management Team – a cross-functional team of Quality and Supply Chain representatives.

5% - Support Receiving Inspection and Floor inspections as needed

Requirements

Required

B.S. in Engineering or related technical discipline (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Industrial).

A minimum of two years of experience in a supplier quality engineering role.

Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Microsoft office acuity (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Familiar with performing on site audits including but limited to configuration management, supplier management, production, and NADCAP / special processes (e.g., machining, finishing, conformal coating, soldering).

The ideal candidate will have Knowledge and Certifications (as applicable) of Quality standards such as J-STD-001, IPC 620, and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).

The candidate must also possess the ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings, product specifications, test procedures, and MIL standards.

Experience with acceptance and qualification testing methodologies, and Knowledge of DoD specifications such as MDA MAP & PMAP are a plus.

Experience defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be a natural at interacting with suppliers and customers alike.

Up to 25% travel required.

May be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level. Requires U.S. Citizenship. Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.

May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
