Aerojet Rocketdyne is currently seeking a Test Operations Manager to join our facility in Canoga Park, CA. The Test Operations Manager will oversee the daily activites of the Test Operations Valve Shop. Provides direction to Salaried and Bargaining Unit personnel in the repair and operational testing of valves, relief valve, pneumatic/hydraulic actuators, hoses, and equipment used to support Test Operations processes. Will implement Test Operations policies, generate schedules, and assign labor resources to meet specific goals. Will also be responsible as the Test Area point-of-contact or interface for asset disposition, property record keeping, and pressure vessel ISI certifications. Will lead Test Area teams in the formulation and execution of Lean/5-S projects.

Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)
60% - Manage valve shop salary and hourly personnel and assign work tasks as required to meet program schedules. Plan, conduct, and manage all aspects of the Test Operations Valve Shop activities. Act as a technical resource for all valve repairs, operations, and specifications. Oversee operations such as valve repair, component hydroproof, component cleaning, dehydration, recertification of relief valves, valve modification, and support equipment operation. Will make recommendations as to the type of valve, materials of construction, and operating characteristics of both manual and remotely operated valves (pneumatic, hydraulic, and solenoid operated). Ensure that all Valve Shop activities are conducted in strict compliance to applicable Environmental, Health, and Safety directives and perform the necessary reviews, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance
15% - Will be responsible as the point-of-contact for all Test Area Property records, asset dispositions, and the annual pressure vessel in-service inspections. May assign work to other Test Operations personnel to perform the above work but shall maintain oversight and provide direction to ensure compliance to applicable standards.
15% - Plan and conduct Test Operations specific Lean projects to improve efficiency, facility utilization, or process costs.
10% - Act as Test Operations 5-S coordinator to ensure cells are being aggressively improved so as to meet yearly goals and objectives.
Requirements
Requires a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline and nine (9) years of progressively responsible experience in a directly related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to plan, organize, coordinate, direct and control the activities of the assigned organization. Must possess a strong background in valve application and troubleshooting.
Additional Requirements/Preferred Qualifications:
Direct experience in valve control systems and component repair processes is highly desirable.
Experience required with Lean Manufacturing and 5-S techniques as applied to component processing facilities.
Experience in component clean room operations and processing of storable and cryogenic propellant component is highly desirable.
Familiarity with Government Property record keeping is desirable.
May be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level. Requires U.S. Citizenship. Must be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.

Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit or stand and maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require occasional walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
Pay range for this position:
120,500 - 177,166 per year
