Aerojet Rocketdyne is seeking a Senior Executive Assistant to join the Supply Chain & Material Management (SCMM) organization at our Canoga Park, CA office. This position provides administrative support to mulitple SCMM managers and their staff.

Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

50% - Perform day-to-day core and complex administrative duties utilizing a thorough knowledge of the department, business area and Aerojet Rocketdyne including relevant priorities and commitments. Duties will include management of schedules, travel arrangements, assistance with correspondence, expense reports, presentations, coordination of special events and meetings, maintaining an inventory of supplies with ordering authority, departmental metrics, as well as internal and external customer meetings. Preparation of special reports and high-level management presentations.This role will require frequent interaction with intra- and inter-organizational contacts, customers, and public agencies that will require good diplomacy and judgment to resolve conflicting needs.

20% - Arranges and supports the Supply Chain Director and Sr. Management team with meeting scheduling and coordination, including team and department meetings and supplier visits.

20% - Provides general assistance to the VP of Supply Chain including travel and expense reporting, meeting scheduling and presentation management.

10% - Performs assignments including responding to inquiries, solving problems, and locating and summarizing information. Gathers company internal data and compiles reports, compiles and organizes data and maintains records.

Secondary Functions: Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and seven (7) years of directly related administrative support experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Must have the ability to handle multiple actions simultaneously with frequent interruptions and time critical responsiveness

  • Requires strong working knowledge of MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Outlook. Experience with the Concur Travel and Expense reporting application is highly desirable

  • Must be able to operate standard office equipment; to effectively interface with executive levels of personnel and work in a team environment; to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; and to effectively schedule and prioritize work flow

  • Requires knowledge of typical office practices, policies and procedures, filing systems and record keeping

  • Also requires knowledge of business correspondence, including rules of grammar, sentence structure, punctuation and spelling

US Citizenship required or status as a US person. Must be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 15 pounds; may require minimal walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.

Pay range for this position:

29.09 - 40.62 per hour
