Aerojet Rocketdyne is seeking to fill an Intern – Supply Chain Materiel Management Financial Analyst role for Summer 2023 at its Los Angeles, CA Space Headquarters.
After orientation and training, intern will perform entry-level supply chain financial tasks for the Transformation and Information Management organization. Intern will support supply chain leadership and gain experience and familiarization with Aerojet Rocketdyne financial and procurement processes. Intern must be able to operate effectively in a team environment. Summer internships will start in approximately May/June and end in August/September.
Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)
This internship will familiarize the candidate with analysis of supply chain financials, labor base, overhead, forecasting, material sales, supplier information and procurement for components across both the defense and space business sectors. The intern will gain knowledge in many software tools; Microsoft Excel, Oracle Procure 2 Pay module, OBIEE and Qlik Sense (Business Intelligence tools).
Tasks will vary but may include assisting the team in providing adequate methods to meet financial analyses by providing root cause analysis and performance targets.
80% - Provide support and reports reflecting material base sales, department overhead and labor base, staffing, capital projects and variance analysis. This includes review/analysis to ensure data communicated is accurate and in a format conducive for deep dive analysis. Requires interface with other Supply Chain leaders and team members, financial disciplines such as Financial Overhead, Business Planning and Business Management across the enterprise.
20% - Supporting special projects related to continuous improvement within the Supply Chain organization through data collection and analysis.
Requirements
Candidate must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program inFinance, Economics, Business Administration or Supply Chain Management(or similar major) OR enrolled in an advanced degree program in related major, and returning to school upon completion of the assignment.
Preferred Qualifications
3.2 GPA or above
Junior standing or above
Solid academic track record of accomplishment
Working knowledge of Microsoft Software applications
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Self-starter with the ability to work with little direction
Leadership & teamwork skills
Requires U.S. Citizenship or status as a U.S. Person. Must be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements
Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 15 pounds; may require minimal walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
Pay range for this position:
20.35 - 29.70 per hour
