Aerojet Rocketdyne is seeking an Associate Systems Engineer to support our liquid propulsion engine programs. This position will be located at our facility in Los Angeles, CA .

This candidate will perform entry-level engineering for theSystems Development and Verification disciplinein the Systems Engineering organization. The candidate will be responsible for the coordination, assembly and testingof liquid rocket engines.Thisposition requires knowledge of and application of basic principles, theories and concepts utilized by systems engineering for rocket engine assembly, development and testing.

Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

This Associate Engineerwill support the product development,qualification,and acceptance testing of liquid rocket engines. You will join a team generating requirements fortherocket engine system to ensure it meets objectives of rocket engine development and test. Close coordination between the design center and the assembly and test sites is critical to success.Under the supervision of a Lead Engineer, the candidate will follow the established/standard policies and procedures for rocket engine systems, data analysis, systems integration, and test planning. Tasks include:development of test plans, development of test procedures, data analysis,system requirement verification,generation of technical documents, preparation and presentation of technical briefings to internal and external customers.

80% - Operating under the guidance and direction from the Lead Engineer and Integrated Product Team Manager, participate incoordination activities regarding test objectives to develop, qualify and accept liquid rocket engines for flight duty. This includes developing a thorough understanding of the rocket engine and test facility systems. The position integrates of all component and system engineering support for hardware and software. The candidate in this position will perform the post engine test data analysis and any potential anomaly resolution. The position prepares and presents engine acceptance reviews to the customer. The candidate will be responsible for generating and presenting technical documentation including specifications, test plans, software requests, data review, test readiness reviews, anomaly reports, hardware acceptance reviews, and test report documents.

20% - Limited travel tooffsite test facilitieswill be required.

Requirements

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).

Experience with liquid rocket propulsion systems desired.

Experience with testing of liquid, solid, or electric propulsion systems is desired.

Experience working an equivalent engineering environment is desired.

Requires U.S. Citizenship or status as a U.S. Person. Must be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require minimal walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.

Pay range for this position:

60,500 - 84,500 per year
